Orthodox Christian Missions
The OCMC Ministry at Holy Trinity Cathedral educates the faithful as to how they can be part of the Orthodox Church's mission work, whether by joining a short term mission team, supporting other missionaries, or supporting mission priests around the world. Each year, the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) sends some 10-15 short-term mission teams to countries around the world, providing ministries such as construction of new schools, medical centers and churches, medical and pharmaceutical aid, evangelization, catechesis and youth outreach. The OCMC Ministry supports the OCMC in this work.

"Making Disciples As We Become Disciples"
A Retreat to Introduce Orthodox Adults and Teens to the work of the
Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC)
Sat., March 26, 2016, 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Divine Liturgy at 9:00 AM
Holy Trinity Cathedral
337 E. 74th St.
New York, NY
At the “Making Disciples As We Become Disciples” retreat, you will learn about the miraculous missionary work of our Orthodox Church today.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the retreat program will commence with a talk by His Eminence Konstantinos Metropolitan of Singapore and South Asia, whose metropolis includes a number of countries (e.g., Indonesia) where the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) runs mission programs. Seminarian Simon Menya, from Uganda by way of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, will speak about the impact of this work on receiving countries, and during lunch, you will have an opportunity to discuss the experience with former missionaries. After lunch, Kenneth Kidd, representing OCMC, will explain how you can become involved in the missions of our Church.
You will leave the retreat with a better understanding of what it means to be a modern missionary. Perhaps, with God’s blessing, you might even be inspired to join a mission team yourself one day!
